The Gospel changed my life!

What IS the Gospel?

The Gospel is the death, burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ! Jesus, Son

of God and son of man came to this earth to save us from our sin. He who

KNEW NO SIN, became sin for us! Because of the sinless life of Jesus Christ,

we can be justified in the eyes of God. Justified: Just as if I had never sinned. I

took Jesus as my Savior and He took me as His child.

On May 10, 1962, I was born into the Dow family. I did nothing to become a

Dow. If you test my DNA you will find that I belong to Lester and Mary Dow.

Nothing can change that fact...whether I behave well or not! My earthly

parents, however, could have chosen to disown me and if that had happened, I

could have been adopted into another family, but I would still be a Dow by

blood.

When I realized that I was a sinner, at the age of 10, I took Jesus

as my Savior and He gave to me salvation and eternal life as a gift for

believing in the Gospel; the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. The

moment you believe, you are adopted into the family of God and nothing you

can do will ever separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our

LORD! When Jesus adopted me, he covered my sins with His blood and

justified me. I belong to Jesus and nothing can separate me from His love.

Jesus said, "Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel..."

Yesterday my husband and I were walking in Downtown Chicago. We have

made it our practice to carry Gospel tracts with a one dollar bill paper-clipped

to each one. We had given a couple of tracts yesterday to beggars on the street

when I saw a blind man...I told my husband that that same man was on the

street begging TWENTY-SEVEN YEARS ago when I was working in downtown

Chicago. Wow! I stopped and told the man that I remembered him. He told

me his name was Mike. I gave to him a Gospel tract and a dollar bill. He asked me to put the Gospel tract in his coat pocket. and after a few more minutes of friendly chatting...Jim and I went on our way. As we walked away, I wondered if during all these years anyone had ever stopped to share the Gospel with him. I walked away happy that I had stopped to share a few kind words, a small amount of money and the good news of Jesus Christ!

Beware of Pride

God blesses humility and he will abase us if we are proud. King Nebuchadnezzar was lifted up in pride and his mind was hardened in pride and he was deposed and his glory was taken from him. When a hus
