Beware of Pride

God blesses humility and he will abase us if we are proud. King Nebuchadnezzar was lifted up in pride and his mind was hardened in pride and he was deposed and his glory was taken from him. When a husband is proud, his family can be taken from him as well.

We can learn from those who've gone before us, but will we? King Nebuchadnezzar had a son, named Belshazzar. Belshazzar knew what had happened to his father, but in spite of that, he began to feast, drink wine, and worship the gods of silver and gold, wood and stone. Even though he saw that his dad had been deposed, he himself chose to be proud and God brought him down.

When I look at Daniel, I see the attributes of a humble man. Daniel had an excellent spirt and one of knowledge, understanding, light and excellent wisdom. God blessed Daniel because he was humble. God will exalt those who humble themselves and abase those who lift themselves up in pride.

Let's ask God to give us his desires. Let's seek Him and worship Him rather than the things of this world. God will bless us with peace and blessings. Beware of Pride! -Thoughts taken from reading Daniel chapter 5.
