BUILDING OTHERS WITH OUR WORDS

“She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”

Proverbs 31:26

I Corinthians 14:26b says, “Let all things be done unto edifying (or building up).” When we build a building, we build from the bottom up. We first must lay a solid foundation. Jesus Christ, when we become believers, is our strong and solid foundation. We must build our lives upon Him. After a solid foundation is built then you begin laying bricks on top of that foundation and build up…As we begin building, lets remember that the Lord Jesus Christ teaches us in I Corinthians that it is very important that we in malice or our desire to harm others be like children but in understanding we need to be men. To prophecy or use our words to build others should bring learning and comfort to all. And, when we build with our words, I Corinthians 14:24 points out that an unbeliever may be convinced, the secrets of his heart made manifest and he will fall down, worship God and report of a truth that God is in YOU. I want to have that kind of testimony…that with my words I not only edify or build others but that others, through my example, will see that my God, the one true God and our Saviour Jesus Christ is true.
