"And they shall KNOW that I am..."

Have you ever noticed in the Bible, in the book of Ezekiel, that it is recorded over and over these words, "And they shall know that I am the LORD?" There are things that happen in our lives that make it clear and plain that God is the LORD!! He wants us to know that He is the LORD.

How does God show us that He is the LORD? In Ezekiel, God says that he will judge men for setting up idols in their heart. One of the great commandments is that we should have NO OTHER gods before the One True God, the LORD. And yet, we set up idols in our hearts and this alienates and separates us from the LORD our God.

What are some examples of the judgment of God? In Ezekiel 14:19 it says, "Or if I bring a pestilence into the land (pestilence is an infectious disease like Covid)! Hmmm...I wonder if God sent Covid to the world to judge us for our sin?

What can we do to avoid the judgment of God? God tells us in Ezekiel to Repent! Turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations (14:6). Noah, Daniel, and Job delivered their own souls "by their righteousness!" Righteousness is living "Right". When we live right, we deliver our souls from the judgment of God. God must love righteousness!

Why does God bring judgment for our sins? In Ezekiel 14:23 we read that "I have not done without CAUSE all that I have done in it, saith the LORD God." What is God's cause? Verse 11 tells us "That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions, but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord GOD. Amen.

We have a loving God who loves us and wants to bless us.

Beware of Pride

God blesses humility and he will abase us if we are proud. King Nebuchadnezzar was lifted up in pride and his mind was hardened in pride...
